It features the band's favourite tracks from earlier albums Lyceum and Unholy Soul and also associated singles, such as regular set-closer Caveman, should-have-been dancefloor anthem Peaches, and the dazed and frazzled Yawn, a seven-minute epic originally filling one side of the What Will We Do Next? EP.

The Orchids – John Scally, Chris Quinn, James Hackett, Matthew Drummond and James Moody –formed in Penilee, a south-western suburb of Glasgow, in 1985. Their first release, From This Day, was a flexidisc on the Sha-la-la label; this was followed by 6 singles and 3 albums on Sarah Records. The band reformed in 2004 and went on to release albums on the Siesta, Pebble and Acuarela labels. ... more

I struggle to choose just one track as they’re all incredible. ‘Drown’ maybe as it was my first favourite as it is on ‘There And Back Again Lane’ but there’s not a duff track on here! The remaster makes the songs sound brighter and crisper still. I’ve listened to the collection a lot in the past twenty-odd years and it’s a real step-up in production, and I couldn’t fault the original.
