about

All the tracks from the six singles/EPs The Orchids released on Sarah Records, from the youthful exuberant clatter of I've Got A Habit ("I'm drinking Irn Bru and I'm thinking of you") to the magical, multilayered majesty of Thaumaturgy... via Defy The Law's angry anti-poll-tax politics ("Your logic and compassion I can't begin to see..."), Something For The Longing's volcanic chorus, the soft, delicate beauty of Underneath The Window, Underneath The Sink ("I didn't know things like you just come and go...") and the looping, hypnotic, drifting drumless wistfulness of Tropical Fishbowl ("Are you the girl who stands in the rain, are you the girl who calls out my name, are you the sunshine in my veins...").
